The Blueprint For Google Local SEO

If you are doing local SEO for your clients, it is always better to have a systematic process in place rather than just following your gut instincts. Not only will the process help you eliminate any unnecessary efforts, it will give you an edge over your competition.

I am fortunate enough to have clients in various niches in highly competitive markets such as New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Legal, transportation, health care, contractor, and dental are some of the niches I am currently working in. This allows me to experiment and split-test various procedures and find out what works the best and what doesn't. The trial and error process that I use allows me to streamline and ultimately, come up with a blueprint that I am currently using.

The blueprint is divided into two phases. Phase 1 deals with a primer. This phase will enable you to quickly discover what is the low hanging fruit for your keywords. Not all keywords will face the same competition and you'll be pleasantly surprised to find that some keywords are easier to rank than what you thought it would take even in a competitive niche. On the other hand, some keywords you thought would rank easy can take months. This is where Phase 2 comes in. The way you approach competitive keywords needs to be different. How you approach the ranking process will set you apart from the competition.
